We’re seeking an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer who sits at the intersection of marketing automation and front-end web development. This is a hands-on role for someone who builds emails that look great, render correctly everywhere, and connect seamlessly to Salesforce Marketing Cloud automation workflows. The right candidate writes clean HTML/CSS, understands AMPscript, has a natural eye for quality, and knows how to make a pixel-perfect email survive Outlook, Gmail, and everything in between.
Actively Hiring
We are hiring for a current opening on an active client project. This is a specific, presently open role. We review applications on a rolling basis and aim to move qualified candidates through our process promptly.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Write AMPscript for dynamic content, personalization, conditional logic, and data-driven email customization within SFMC templates.
- Command the full breadth of SFMC functionality and the platform's capabilities, limits, and architecture. Beyond hands-on development, this role includes evaluating Salesforce's next-generation marketing platform: assessing fit, identifying gaps, and building proofs-of-concept to validate migration paths. Prior experience with Salesforce Next is not required, but a genuine willingness to learn it, pressure-test it, and form a technical opinion on it is essential.
- Apply front-end web development skills to support landing pages, web components, and marketing assets that complement email campaigns—including light JavaScript for interactive or tracked elements.
- Own email QA and rendering testing—systematically testing emails across clients, devices, and screen sizes, with a strong instinct for quality standards and zero tolerance for broken layouts or rendering failures.
- Collaborate with designers and marketing stakeholders to translate creative briefs into production-ready email builds, applying basic styling and design sensibility to make layout decisions when specs are incomplete.
- Implement segmentation, personalization, and A/B testing strategies within SFMC to improve campaign effectiveness and engagement metrics.
- Troubleshoot campaign errors and rendering issues, providing timely resolution and recommending best practices for email development and deployment.
- Stay current on SFMC platform updates and email development best practices, recommending improvements to templates, tooling, and workflows.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years in email development or marketing automation, with a portfolio demonstrating production-quality HTML email builds and SFMC campaign delivery.
- Advanced proficiency in HTML and CSS for email—including table-based layouts, inline styling, responsive design with media queries, and cross-client compatibility techniques. This is the core technical screen.
- Working proficiency in AMPscript for dynamic content, personalization, conditional rendering, and data extension lookups within SFMC templates.
- Hands-on experience with SFMC—Email Studio, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio—for building, scheduling, and deploying marketing campaigns.
- Strong instinct for quality standards and systematic approach to testing emails across clients (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail), devices, and screen sizes—using tools like Litmus or Email on Acid or equivalent.
- Sufficient front-end skills to support landing pages and web marketing assets—solid HTML/CSS, light JavaScript for basic interactivity or tracking, and comfort working within existing design systems.
- Basic styling and layout judgment—able to make sensible visual decisions when working from incomplete specs and to flag design issues before they reach production.
- Light JavaScript skills for email or web-side interactivity, event tracking, or template tooling. Deep JS expertise is not required.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Trailhead certifications in SFMC are a strong plus but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
