Experience Remote done Right.
Over 20 years of remote experience, all 500+ staff are 100% remote, and we still grow vibrant relationships, provide exceptional opportunities for career growth, while working with stellar clients on ambitious projects
Actively hiring
We are actively building a pipeline of experienced engineers for upcoming client projects, with some opportunities expected to begin as soon as possible. While start dates are dependent on project timing, this role reflects active hiring needs aligned with confirmed and anticipated work. Candidates who are not selected for the immediate opportunity may be transitioned into our future opportunity talent pipeline and considered for future engagements.
What we're working on:
We are looking for an experienced QA Lead to own the quality strategy for a fintech platform where AI agents produce and maintain test coverage alongside engineers. This is a hands-on role. You will define the quality requirements that feed into the delivery cells, set the test strategy, and supervise an agent-led testing capability that you continuously improve. You will engineer quality in early, catching risk before code reaches production, working in a JavaScript/TypeScript microservices environment with strong observability and CI/CD automation. Cell leads handle day-to-day work allocation; you are accountable for the standard, consistency, and direction of quality across all cells.
Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the overall quality and test strategy across the platform, ensuring no gaps exist in coverage or approach across the cells.
- Supervise the AI-agent testing capability that produces test coverage, regression, and defect detection, and intervene hands-on where agents fall short.
- Build and refine the prompts, frameworks, and tooling that uplift agent-led and continuous testing across cells.
- Define the quality requirements that feed into the delivery cells, and set the standards and best practice the cells work to.
- Own functional, integration, and end-to-end test coverage for APIs and critical services.
- Maintain a quarterly quality and test roadmap plus a lower-confidence 6-month forecast, aligned to engineering delivery goals and platform evolution.
- Lead service acceptance: assess critical deliverables against acceptance criteria and run risk evaluations on service readiness.
- Track and report quality metrics, including defect leakage rate, mean time to detect and resolve defects, automation execution rate, and performance and load coverage.
- Drive down testing technical debt across flaky tests, outdated frameworks, and automation backlog gaps.
- Build and maintain performance and load testing for critical services using tools such as JMeter.
- Monitor emerging testing technologies, methods, and techniques, and bring the useful ones into the platform.
- Collaborate closely with Technical Leads, Product Owners, and cell members so quality practices support reliable, secure, and scalable delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including senior or lead-level ownership of test strategy.
- Hands-on expertise in test automation across functional, integration, and end-to-end testing, using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, and Jest.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, with working knowledge of Node and NPM.
- Proven experience testing microservices and API-based platforms.
- Experience designing and running agentic or AI-assisted testing, or a demonstrated track record of adopting AI tooling into a QA function.
- Proficiency with performance and load testing, including tools such as JMeter.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Kibana.
- Solid version control and CI/CD experience with Git and GitLab.
- Experience with application lifecycle management and test management in Jira and Confluence.
- A measurement-driven approach, with comfort defining, collecting, and reporting quality metrics to support organisational decisions.
- ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager certification (desirable).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate quality objectives and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Location
This is a fully remote position; however, for the initial project, candidates must be available to work UK business hours to align with client and team schedules. Candidates may also be considered for future opportunities within our evergreen talent pipeline, which may align with Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones, depending on project requirements.
Application Deadline
Applications will be accepted until June14, 2026. Candidates can expect feedback by July 1, 2026. As we continue to build our pipeline, the position may be reposted to connect with additional qualified professionals.
