We’re looking for a Platform Engineer – DevOps & Snowflake to join our agile and highly collaborative team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in building and evolving our Snowflake-based Lakehouse platform—supporting the full lifecycle from development to deployment, monitoring, and automation. You’ll combine modern DevOps practices with data engineering skills to create a reliable, scalable, and secure backend platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of a Snowflake Lakehouse architecture, enabling robust and scalable data solutions.
- Support the migration of data and workloads from a legacy platform to Snowflake.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable Python code and modular components.
- Use containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) to build backend systems that are highly available, secure, and easy to manage.
- Create robust monitoring frameworks to visualize pipeline health and system performance.
- Manage and enhance data storage environments, including data lakes and AWS cloud resources (S3, Step Functions, EventBridge).
- Actively participate in the full development cycle—from design and implementation to testing, documentation, and deployment automation.
- Establish coding standards and best practices, guiding junior team members.
- Contribute to system uptime, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Embrace a flexible mindset to tackle a wide variety of platform challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing and building production-grade platforms.
- Solid experience with Python, and scripting in Python or Bash.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning and feature implementation.
- Experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
- Familiar with CI/CD tools (preferably GitLab) and test-driven development.
- Experience building and managing data pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
- Proficient with Git and general DevOps best practices.
- Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to take ownership across a wide scope of platform responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and container platforms (e.g., ECS).
- Experience with Python Django for backend development.
- Experience with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Understanding of Lakehouse architectures and data engineering principles.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
